Ever thought one important festival or event that you love to attend and how would you feel if it were taken away from you by an Evil Corporation? This was a prompt for a writing class on Wordpress, that I am sharing here. What would you write about?

Tabla Bajaana - Beating the drum
I was talking to my mother today and she enquired about Haransh. I casually said " O Colby vich tablay baja reha hai" ( He is beating the drums in Colby). She burst out laughing. Naturally, she....

Kid's College & Indian Cooking
It is a beautiful day in spring, everyone is smiling for no apparent reason. The drive to Great Falls is gorgeous with sunlight streaming into the car. The lakes nestled in the jagged rocks and hills basking in the glory of sunlight, how lucky they are, to be out there, wild and free.

Cacophony – Adjust Maadi (Hallmark of India)
Every morning, I remember waking up to Suprabhātam, auspicious dawn – a Sanskrit poem sung by MS Subbalakshmi. It would be blaring from the loudspeaker of a nearby temple. India being a land of many festivals has some sort of celebration happening all year round. Celebrations are always loud and musical be they songs from the movies or religious mantras.

India’s Daughter - And Bipartisanship
As the media
circus goes on primarily in India and Britain over the documentary film “ India’s
daughter” made by a British filmmaker, there are many opinions on how many
people feel the movie should be banned vs how many people think otherwise.

Tear Jerkers and Bak Kut Teh
It all started with this emotional Thai commercial a few months ago. Then, out of nowhere it re-appeared and I have a new hobby now, watching short films on Youtube. Well! You can overdo that too, but the Thai commercials have a way of wrenching emotions out of you.

Things precious new & old
A picture of four generations, a picture of a time,
when a photographer had to show up with a huge camera and other
paraphernalia, turning it into a mega-event. I saw this old family
picture and found it to be too precious to be shared publicly. And yet, it is a
story of a time that needs to be told.

Google & People
Google and People
Gone are the days when people needed people and teachers
were Gods. Even when people did
not like each other they kept in touch or in close contact, just because “Kadee we lodh pae sakdi hai”
as my parents used to say, “ You could need their help or expertise anytime.”

Spellbound - A fairy tale of sorts
Once upon a time there lived a princess in the castle of her dreams. Dreamy eyed and beautiful beyond compare in her mind, she lived in a world of her own. She came out of her castle, sashaying in yet another new colorful saree, with a huge smile on her face.

Attitude Idaho
Attitude Idaho, now I am not sure if Sarah has written a book with that title or not but I saw it. It was in a room full of people eating do-nuts and browsing books. I am looking in astonishment through my little rat hole, as I stand there unnoticed wondering what is going on, it doesn’t even look like Sarah’s house.

Blogs and Babies!
"So how is your son doing, are you missing him?", this is a normal question I get asked and I reply, " Yes I do!.. but.... I have two blogs!" I can tell they are not impressed.
